Henderson finishes first year on Simmons field hockey team
BOSTON — Dover-Foxcroft resident Gabrielle Henderson, a 2013 graduate of Foxcroft Academy, was a first-year player on the Simmons College field hockey team this fall.
Henderson, a biochemistry major, played in 19 games for the Sharks. She scored four goals and picked up one assist, while recording 30 shots on goal.
Simmons finished the season with a record of 12-8 — 6-3 in North Atlantic Conference play — for a seven-win improvement from the year before. The Sharks earned the fifth seed for the NAC playoffs, the program’s highest since 2005 when Simmons had its last winning season before 2003. In the quarterfinals Simmons fell at No. 4 UMaine-Farmington, 2-0.
