December area Grange events

    Thursday, Dec. 5 the South Sangerville Grange hosts the annual Piscataquis Pomona Christmas dinner and program. The potluck supper is at 6 p.m., program begins at 7 and will include an optional Yankee Christmas gift swap with a maximum value of $10. Donations of canned goods are being collected to benefit a local food cupboard. For additional information contact Bill Bemis at 924-5357. The South Sangerville Grange is located off Silvers Mills Road in South Sangerville.

    Saturday, Dec. 7, Valley Grange holds its annual fellowship breakfast for members and friends. This is potluck or help with the cooking. Breakfast starts at 8 a.m., contact Mary Annis at 564-0820 and let us know what you can bring or cook. A brief Christmas program will feature the “Ghost of Christmas Past” who will ask about your favorite Christmas memory. Additional information is available at http://ValleyGrange.com.
    Sunday, Dec. 8 all area children are welcomed for the annual Christmas party hosted by Garland Grange and sponsored by Garland Rec Department with crafts, snacks, gifts, and a visit from Santa. The party starts at 1 p.m. and ends at 4 at the Garland Grange Hall on the Oliver Hill Road. For more information, call 924-5679.
    Friday, Dec. 13 the Garland Grange holds the final public supper of 2013 from 5-7 p.m. Menu features chicken pie, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, homemade bread and desserts. Takeout is available. For more call 924-6954.
    Saturday, Dec. 21, the Parkman Grange will hold the annual Kid’s Christmas party from 1-4 p.m. at the Parkman Grange Hall. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there to hear Christmas wishes and for photos. Santa will have a present for each child. Santa’s Workshop will have lots of fun things to make and take home including ornaments, jingle bell necklaces, candy cane reindeers, cookie decorating, sticker scenes, a frame for a photo with Santa and a surprise gift to give Mom or Grandma. Hot chocolate, spiced cider and Christmas cookies will be served. Party is free of charge, thanks to all the support from the community.
