Art show June 30 at Millworks

DEXTER — An art show and reception will be from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 30 at the Millworks, LLC building at 16 Church Street. Featured artists are Wally Warren, Joe Kennedy and Nellie Kennedy. All three are long-time friends and neighbors living and producing art in Ripley.

Warren has been a well-known fixture of the Maine art scene for decades. His colorful works of assemblage have brightened up storefronts in Dexter and in galleries and private collections throughout the country – coast to coast.

MILLWORKS ART SHOW — Pieces by Ripley artist Wally Warren will among those on display for an art show from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 30 at Millworks, LLC, 16 Church Street in Dexter.

Joe Kennedy started his style of Steam Punk assemblage art around 2008. Inspired by Warren’s work, he combined his trade knowledge with scrap and left over plumbing parts with found objects creating unusual fantasy pieces of metal and glass.

Nellie Kennedy had been photographing as a hobby but found her niche while documenting Joe’s work. Her work was quickly noticed by fellow photographers and artists.
