DOVER-FOXCROFT – Shirley Mae Warren, 88, beloved wife of the late Harry A. Warren, died October 24, 2013, at Hibbard Nursing Home. She was born June 4, 1925, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Leon and Elza E. (Booker) Levensalor.
She attended Foxcroft Academy and was a graduate of Pierre School of Beauty in Lewiston. Shirley Mae was a beautician in Dover-Foxcroft for many years, but her first love was always her music. She played the piano and sang at many area functions, always involving her audience with joy and a big smile. Shirley was also a past member of OES, a dedicated volunteer with Pine Tree Hospice, and over the years, she had attended the Dover-Foxcroft Methodist and Congregational Churches. She will be remembered for her clever and insightful poetry.
She is survived by three sons, Sherwood of Columbia, Ct, and his daughter, Leah Warren, of Orlando, FL; Duane and his wife, Debbie, of Vernon, CT, and their daughters, Erica Oberman and husband, Zac, of Middleboro, MA, and Olivia Warren of Vernon, CT; and Ronald of Bangor, and his two daughters, Ashley Bureau, of New Hampton, NH, and Jennie Warren of Nashua, NH; two daughters, Heidi Warren of Guilford and her children, Morgan Newman of Guilford, and Kyle Ramsay and girlfriend, Jessica, of Sangerville; and Teresa Allen and companion, Bob Croan of Harned, KY, and her two sons, Ryan Morgan and his wife, Nicki of Georgia and Tyler Morgan of Dover-Foxcroft; a daughter-in-law, Diana Warren and her companion, Ken Pooler, of Dexter, and her children, Scott Warren and his wife, Teresa of Rocky Hill, CT, and Shari Gregory and her husband, Paul, of Winslow; a sister, Verna Thornton of Zephyr Hills, FL; a brother, Lawrence Levensalor and his wife, Trudy, of Dexter; many great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
She was predeceased by a son, Donald; a brother and his wife, Tom and Doreen Levensalor; a sister, Margaret Davis; and a great-granddaughter, Savannah Warren.
Shirley’s family would like to thank the staff at Hibbard Nursing Home for their compassionate and loving care for Shirley while she made her home there.
Friends were invited to call 6-8 p.m., Monday, October 28, 2013, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, where a funeral service was conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 29, with Russell Hewett officiating.
