Blacksmith Shop Museum opens Memorial Day weekend
The Blacksmith Shop Museum, located at 107 Dawes Road in Dover-Foxcroft, will be opening for the season on Memorial Day weekend. The building will be open most days from 9 a.m to sunset -- admission is free.

OPENING SOON — The Blacksmith Shop Museum, located at 107 Dawes Road in Dover-Foxcroft, will be opening for the season on Memorial Day weekend. The building will be open most days from 9 a.m to sunset — admission is free. Several blacksmiths will be at the Dunham Forge (located next to the museum) on the following schedule: June 15 – Matt Griffith from Guilford; July 13 – Dwight King from Orrington; Aug. 3 – John Calderwood from Etna; and Sept. 21 – Chad Perkins from Brownville Junction. All demonstrations are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and children are especially welcome. These blacksmiths love to answer questions.
