Viselli family runs away with this year’s Moose on the Run race

GREENVILLE — Over 70 people turned out at C.A. Dean Hospital to participate in the 2013 Camden National Bank Moose on the Run 5K Run/Walk and Kid’s 1K Fun Run.
Patrick Myers, who organizes the race for the Piscataquis Regional YMCA said that everyone seemed happy with the day “The conditions were great,” Myers said. “Not too hot and not too cold. We had a lot of support from area businesses and raised over $1,000 for scholarships for Greenville area residents.”

Trophies and medals were presented in men’s and women’s age brackets as well as for boys and girls in the youth race. The overall winner of the race was Joe Viselli with a time of just 16 minutes and 56 seconds. The overall women’s winner was Jessica Viselli with a time of 21:52.
Not only were the men’s and women’s winners husband and wife, but their children were well represented in the youth race with their 7-year-old daughter Lila winning for the girls in the youth race and 8-year-old son Max coming in second overall in the youth race behind youth winner Brayden Barnes. Full results can be found on the PRYMCA’s website at www.prymca.org and pictures from the race are on the Y’s Facebook page. For those who don’t want to miss the race in 2014, the date will be Sunday, Oct.12.
