O. Nelson (Nelly) Bridge

Dover-Foxcroft – O. Nelson (Nelly) Bridge, 75, passed to Spirit on November 19, 2018 at Mayo Regional Hospital, in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. He was born November 4, 1943, the youngest son of Stanley and Faye (Perkins) Bridge and raised on the family’s dairy farm in Parkman, Maine. Nelson loved to hunt, fish and farm, never travelling very far from the central Maine highlands, a true ‘Mainer’. He worked all his life at Hardwood Products, as a maintenance supervisor primarily in the ‘cotton tipping’ room in Guilford and was highly thought of by his friends and coworkers. A grandfather, Nelson is survived by his elder brother, Galen Bridge; his daughter, Teresa Poindexter; his grandson, Damien Bridge; and extended members of the Bridge and Simmons families. He was predeceased by his son, Steven N. Bridge; his elder brothers Robert and Herbert, sisters Mary and Audrey and his parents. A private man, Nelson has requested that we all keep him in serene thought and prayer; the family will hold a quiet ceremony at a later date. The family also gives heartfelt thanks to the staff at both Mayo Hospital and Hibbard’s Nursing home who provided him loving and compassionate care in his later years. Peace be with him.
