American Flag ColorPO Alan Saunders Sr OBATKINSON – Alan Paul Saunders, Sr., 64, died September 10, 2013, at his home in Atkinson. He was born in Sebec, June 3, 1949, a son of Harrison D. and Phyllis E. (Lowell) Saunders.
    Paul served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He later worked as a carpenter, and then at the Charleston Corrections Center, retiring in 2010. He loved to hunt, fish and camp with his family and friends. He also enjoyed taking a nice country ride with his wife, Donna, looking for wildlife.
    He leaves a special friend and partner of 37 years, Donna C. Saunders of Atkinson; three sons, Alan Paul Saunders Jr. and Naomi of Benton, Thomas W. Andrews Jr. and his wife, Jessie, and Tim S. Andrews and his wife, Laurie, all of Dover-Foxcroft; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Chelsea, Dylan, Zachary, and Cheyanne Andrews, Aubriella Saunders, and Chloe and Christina Andrews; one great-grandson, Kael Jacob Andrews Bush; four brothers, Harry Saunders and Gloria, Byron Saunders and Crystal, Bernard Saunders and Evelyn, and Gene Saunders; three sisters, Irene and Tom Pequis, Sharon and Neal Crockett, and Betty and Mel Ames.
    He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Merle Boober.
