Roy resides in Charleston with his longtime girlfriend, Jenna. The couple has traveled to various places within the U.S. and always enjoys returning home to Central Maine.
Pingree has resided in Massachusetts for 17 years. She returns to Maine every summer to visit family and friends during Foxcroft Academy Alumni Weekend and special occasions like the Piscataquis Heritage Hot Air Balloon Festival. Pingree looks forward to the day when she can return to reside in Maine permanently.
In June, Roy could be seen flying around taking photographs from his plane as the hot air balloons flew above Dover-Foxcroft. When Pingree saw his photography, she questioned why he didn’t try to sell his artwork. Roy stated “I am just a country hick with a plane and a camera”.
Pingree has over 25 years of experience working with small and large businesses. Pingree as well as many of Roy’s friends, realizes the potential of such beautiful aerial photography.
The Hicksville Photography business model is designed to build jobs within Dover-Foxcroft and Piscataquis County. Roy and Pingree are developing this business to proudly showcase the small communities. A portion of Hicksville Photography profits are designated to help others in need within Piscataquis County.
Currently, Hicksville Photography has a line of products showcasing aerial photos of Foxcroft Academy and over 170 prints which include aerial, wildlife and inspirational images. Hicksville Photography has reached out to Foxcroft Academy to create a new area of business, showcasing the school in various products available to students, staff, alumni and residents of surrounding communities.
As Hicksville Photography creates products, they will be reaching out to other businesses in the area.  Products will include prints, note cards, postcards, magnets, mugs, clips, key chains, tote bags, iPhone cases and more. Roy and Pingree plan to make their business about working together with the community.  They hope to work with existing businesses to promote and create new avenues of business within Piscataquis County.
If you are a resident or a business owner in the area, and you would like to propose an idea, Hicksville Photography is interested in hearing from others. Hicksville Photography motto is “Of the Community – For the Community – The Way Life Should Be.”
Hicksville Photography founders will display their individual photography as well as the artwork of associated freelance photographers. As of August, Sandy Holt Snide and Jade Harmon are the newest freelance photographers at Hicksville Photography.
