2013 AE Robinson Fall Golf Classic features good company and ‘amazing’ prizes

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Piscataquis Regional YMCA will be holding the 23rd annual AE Robinson Fall Golf Classic on Saturday, Aug. 31. This annual four person scramble will be hosted by Foxcroft Golf Club with the money raised going to the Y’s Annual Campaign supporting individuals and families in the community with financial need.  Tee times are at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and everyone is welcome.

“We’re encouraging people to contact us who may want to compete, but don’t have their own team,” said Deb Boyd, the Y’s executive director, “We heard that in years past people wanted to participate, but didn’t have anyone else to form a team. To help them out, the Y will be coordinating teams this year and we’d like anyone interested to get in touch.”
This year, there will be four chances to win some amazing hole-in-one prizes. Anyone making a hole-in-one on designated holes can win $10,000 cash, a choice of premium golf equipment, a choice of a premium electronics package or airline tickets for two. There will be additional prizes for the winning team and a luncheon is provided to all registrants.
The fundraiser originated through the vision and leadership of Bud Prouty who together with area business leaders and professionals established the golf tournament. The tournament continues today with the strong support of a multitude of local businesses and individuals. Registration can be made in advance at the Y or the morning of the tournament at the golf course.
The Piscataquis Regional YMCA is a cause-driven organization that is committed to the community and dedicated to promoting healthy spirit, mind, and body for all, through programs and services grounded in Christian heritage and the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
