PO Elsie Mayo OB    MILO – Miss Elsie M. Mayo, 100, passed away July 26, 2013, at Pleasant Meadows Estates, Dover-Foxcroft. She was born June 19, 1913, in Milo, the daughter of Vernie and Mary Ellen (Erskine) Mayo.
    She was a long-time active member of the United Baptist Church in Milo, a member of the Three Rivers Senior Citizens Club, and of Orion Rebekah Lodge No. 16. Elsie was an LPN and had worked at the Milo hospital and then at Eastern Maine Medical Center. She resided in Milo all her life. She took care of numerous families and friends.
    She is survived by sisters and brothers, Beatrice Phillips, Jack Mayo, Murray Mayo, Richard Mayo, and Jean Lee; and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Nancy Elsemore; and a special great-niece, Janice Lavigne. She will be remembered by a special friend, Laurie Sproul.
    She was predeceased by brothers and sisters, George Mayo, Leon Mayo, Gordon Mayo, Violet Richards, Barbara Mayo and Edith Mayo.
    Friends and family were invited to call from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo, with Pastor Phil McGlauflin officiating. Burial was in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Three Rivers Ambulance Service, PO Box 432, Milo 04463.
