Center Theatre to screen ‘Seed: The Untold Story’ for Earth Day on April 22
DOVER-FOXCROFT — The critically acclaimed movie “Seed: The Untold Story” will be screened at 4 p.m. on Earth Day, Sunday, April 22 the Center Theatre. After the screening, Will Bonsall the director of the Scatterseed Project, will be on hand to discuss the movie. Admission to the movie is by donation with proceeds offsetting rental costs for the Center Theatre.
“Seed: The Untold Story” follows passionate seed keepers protecting a 12,000 year-old food legacy. In the last century, 94 percent of seed varieties have disappeared. As biotech chemical companies control the majority of seeds, farmers, scientists, lawyers, and indigenous seed keepers fight a David and Goliath battle to defend the future of food. In a harrowing and heartening story, these reluctant heroes rekindle a lost connection to our most treasured resource and revive a culture connected to seeds. The movie has won many awards and accolades since its release in 2016.
