‘Jack Does That’ and the CWC

    DOVER-FOXCROFT — When Patrick Myers, the coordinator of Jack Does That first started planning the hour exchange, he knew that he did not want to plan an entirely new non-profit.
    “There are so many great non-profits in our area already, I didn’t see the need to start a new one,” he said. “Instead, part of the process of bringing Jack to life was to find it a home with an existing organization.” Myers states that he met with several non-profits in the community to discuss the pros and cons of hosting Jack Does That and chose the Charlotte White Center. He’s the first to admit it may not seem like an obvious fit at first, but becoming a program of the Charlotte White Center makes a lot of sense.

    “The Charlotte White Center is a world-class organization with a long history of ingenuity and creativity and a commitment to the community,” Myers said. “They can provide administrative and logistical support and in return Jack Does That brings huge benefits to their consumers, employees and the community at large. Part of CWC’s mission and vision is to strengthen the community that they are a part of, and I’m very proud that Jack Does That is now a part of that vision.”
    Anyone interested in learning more about the hour exchange can visit www.JackDoesThat.org.  Those without a computer or with more questions can call 270-3613 and speak to Myers the hour exchange coordinator. There is a suggested annual donation of $10 for individuals and $50 for businesses and organizations. The next new-member orientation will be held at the Charlotte White Center, 572 Bangor Road in Dover-Foxcroft on Wednesday, July 24 at 6:30 p.m.
    Jack Does That is an hour exchange located in Central Maine. JDT members exchange services on an hour-for-hour basis and everyone’s time is equal.
