Mayo Seniority plans trip to Bar Harbor

    DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Seniority Program at Mayo Regional Hospital has planned a trip to Bar Harbor on Saturday, July 27 (rain date: July 28), for a lighthouse cruise and Downeast lobster bake.

    The price includes charter bus transportation, the cruise provided by Bar Harbor Whale Watch Co. and a lobster bake at the Bluenose Hotel. The bus will pick up passengers at Mayo in Dover-Foxcroft at 5:45 a.m. and will return to Mayo at 8:45 p.m.
    The lighthouse cruise will be on board the 112-foot, jet-powered catamaran Friendship V, and will tour 15 lighthouses. Also on the cruise will be opportunities to view marine wildlife, the Little Cranberry Island Life Saving Station, coastal mansions, Acadia National Park, Penobscot Bay and Vinalhaven Island. The cruise will be narrated by historian Jeremy D’Entremont, author of more than 10 books, including “The Lighthouses of Maine.”
    Reservation deadline is July 22 and checks should be made out to MRH Seniority and mailed to Lil Smith, Seniority, 897 West Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426.
