Gloria Mae Nason Stinson

Dexter – Gloria Mae Nason Stinson left this earth to be with her loved ones and the Lord on April 11 after a long illness. She was born to Albert Lee Nason and Stella Mae Cuthbertson in 1932 in Sebec, Maine. Gloria grew up in Sebec and Bowerbank and dearly loved the area. She lived in both Maine and Connecticut through the years, working as a nurse aide and caregiver most of her life. Gloria loved to take care of people, and they loved her care. She also spent some of her happiest hours with family and loved Nason family reunions. Gloria married Reverend Theodore Stinson in August 1985, and together they found happiness running the Blue Hill Pentecostal Church. They also ran boarding homes for the elderly in Bucksport, Dexter and Sebec for many years.
Gloria is survived by her son Don Fish of Woodbury, CT, his wife Shirley, their sons Don Jr., Jason, Benjamin, and grandchildren Savannah and John III; her daughter in law Barbara Fish and grandsons John, Scott, and Steven. She is also survived by one sister, Elsie Nason Watters of Bowerbank, and two loving sisters in law, Ruth Nason and Helga Nason. She is survived by a special friend and caregiver, Hermie Harvey. She was predeceased by her husband Theodore, her son John and her siblings Elizabeth “Betty” Nason Hews, Albert Nason, Clyde Nason, Oliver Nason, Beulah Nason Ames, Roberta “Bonnie” Nason Slama, and Martin Nason. She was also predeceased by one grandson, Randy.
A graveside service and Celebration of Life will be held this summer at Sebec Lake. Interment will be in the Sebec Village Cemetery.
