Hats in school at SeDoMoCha benefit Foxcroft Academy senior

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Builders Club at SeDoMoCha Middle School sponsored a Hat Day fundraiser on March 24 for students in kindergarten to grade 8 to raise several hundred dollars for Raven Nally and her family.
Nally, a senior at Foxcroft Academy, is a cancer survivor. She had bone cancer in middle school and while she won that battle, Nally had to have her leg amputated several weeks ago due to post-cancer complications. Only a few days elapsed between the time she found out the leg needed to be amputated and her surgery.
Nally was hoping to return to school on March 20 but she suffered a setback in the form of infection in her leg and underwent another surgery on her leg. Nally was released from Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor on March 23 and she is looking forward to returning to school. Nally will be getting a prosthesis after her leg heals. She is planning on attending the University of Maine next year.
Her parents are Daniel and Kelley Nally of Dover-Foxcroft. Nally’s brother Isaac has Down syndrome and he is also a senior at Foxcroft Academy.
The several hundred dollars raised through Hat Day by the Builder’s Club will help the Nally family with expenses related to the recent illnesses and surgeries.
