Nathan R. Blockler

BLOCKLER, Nathan R., 74, of Dover-Foxcroft, at Monson, May 17, 2013. Visitations will be held 6-8  p.m., Wed., May 22, 2013, at the Lary Funeral Home. A graveside memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m., Friday, May 24, at Rural Grove Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft. Arrangements by the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft.

Nathan R. Blockler

PO Nathan Blockler OB    DOVER-FOXCROFT – Nathan R. Blockler, 74, passed away May 17, 2013, unexpectedly in Monson. He was born April 6, 1939, in Sangerville, ME, the son of Fern Brooker Wakeum Edwards and Beecher Embelton. He was raised in Sangerville by his grandmother, Georgia McPheters.
    Throughout his life, he worked as a farm hand, general laborer and carpenter. He worked in his father-in-law’s carpentry business, Bonsey Brothers, and later owned his own business, Nate Blockler & Sons. During his retirement he found enjoyment through learning to play the guitar and joining the Monson Jammers group. Nate also spent time restoring and driving antique cars with the Duster’s Club. He dedicated many hours to his kids with activities and held office in Dirigo Horseman’s Association and was a leader and supporter of the local 4-H club.
    Nate was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon A. Blockler; and his brothers, Richard Edwards and Beecher Embelton, Jr. He is survived by his fiancée, Margaret Ullrich; sister, Susan Edwards; brother, Hank Embelton; children, Lorrie, Richard and friend, Cathie, Gerald and wife, Shelley, Daniel, and Patricia Nutter and husband, Derrick; grandchildren, Michael, Nathaniel, Scott and wife, Amber, Matthew and wife, Kristi, Morgan Blockler, and Hailey Nutter; great-grandchildren, Brooklynne, Ezra, Elijah, Emmett, and soon-to-be baby boy; sister-in-law, Diane Bonsey; nephew, Michael Bonsey; nieces, Gayle Bonsey, Debra Hayes and husband, Scott, Pamela Richardson and husband, Kenneth, and Melissa Ware and husband, Doug; and many other beloved great- nieces and nephews. Nate will be remembered for his love and dedication to his family and community.
    Visitations will be held 6-8  p.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2013, with prayers offered at 7:45 p.m., at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. A graveside memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2013, in the family lot at Rural Grove Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft.
