Beverly Carsley

DOVER-FOXCROFT &  NEWPORT Beverly Carsley, 80, passed away March 13, 2017 surrounded by her family following a brief illness. She was born January 9, 1937 in Dexter, a daughter of Carroll and Florence (Judkins) Knowlton.
Beverly graduated with high honors from Foxcroft Academy Class of 1955 where she was a member of the National Honor Society and student council and graduated from nursing school at Eastern Maine General in Bangor. She was an LPN at Plummer Memorial Hospital in Dexter for many years. She began her career in banking in 1972 and retired from People’s Heritage Bank in Newport. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dover-Foxcroft and was a Cub Scout pack leader in Newport.
Beverly is survived by 3 sons and their wives, Shawn and Gina of Rockingham, NC, Kerry and Angela, and Jay and Tatiana, all of Newport; grandsons, Dale R. Carsley and girlfriend Danielle Dube of Newport, Michael and wife Arianna Bjork of Carmel, Aleksander and Zarek Carsley of Newport, Jessie Ashmore of Lamoine and Dylan Ashmore of Milton, WV; her loving sister, Linda and husband Kenneth Hews of Bowerbank and The Villages, FL; 2 nephews, Jeff and wife Jane Knowlton of Milton, NH and Ryan Hews of Princeton, NJ; 3 nieces and their husbands, Kathy and Mark Kinney of Atkinson, Loretta and Lewis Nuite of Atkinson, Heather and Chris Caponi of Brookfield, WI; several great and great-great nieces and nephews; and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Roger Knowlton; sister, Carolyn Doore; and nephew Jared Knowlton.
Her joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and weekends at Sebec Lake with her sister Linda and family. Her nephew Ryan was special to her because of the time he spent with her enhancing her life experiences.
Friends may call Friday, March 24th from 5 to 7 P.M. at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, where memorial services will be held 3 P.M. Saturday. Friends and family may call from 2 P.M. until time of services. Spring burial will be in the Dover Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to the Old Town Animal Orphanage, P.O. Box 565, Orono, ME 04473.
