EMMC Sports Health March 22 presentation to focus on mental conditioning
DEXTER — Achieving peak athletic performance begins with having the tools to reduce the risk of injury, train for success, follow the right nutrition plan and focus both on the mental and physical components of reaching an athlete’s fullest potential. In February and March, EMMC Sports Health will help competitive athletes, weekend warriors and everyone in between gain the knowledge to perform their best during a free educational series.
Among the events will be “Mental Conditioning: Using Mindfulness to Improve Performance” on Wednesday, March 22 at 6 p.m. at Dexter Regional HIgh School with Crissy Mountain, ATC and JP Stowe, ATC.
Mountain is a 2010 Dexter graduate and she graduated from the University of Southern Maine School of Environmental, Health, and Life Sciences in 2014 with a B.S. in Athletic Training. In the winter and spring of 2015, she was a per diem athletic trainer for EMMC Sports Health, providing injury care to athletes at community and school events. Mountian joined the EMMC Sports Health athletic training staff in July 2015, and provides athletic training services to Dexter Regional High School and across town at the Ridge View Community School, Central High School in East Corinth and within the greater Bangor communities.
