PROUD GRANDMOTHER — Caden LaPlante, a freshman at Lawrence High School in Fairfield, is the grandson of Minnie McCormick, a daily swimmer at the Piscataquis Area Community Center. LaPlante will swim in the YMCA state meet on Saturday, March 6 at Colby College in Waterville. He has traveled out of state for other meets. LaPlante began swimming in 2016 and he has been to Florida twice for meets.
