Greenville Fire Department’s Moosehead Lake Ice Fishing Derby returns this weekend

GREENVILLE — The Greenville Fire Department’s fifth annual Moosehead Lake Ice Fishing Derby is set for this weekend, running on Friday, Feb. 27, Saturday, Feb. 28 and Sunday, March 1. Proceeds will benefit the Greenville Fire Department and its projects to help support equipment and other needs to continue to serve the community.

Registration will be at the fire station, 10 Minden Street, for those who register by noon on Feb. 28. Tickets are required in order to weigh in.

First and second prizes will be awarded to the largest lake trout and the largest cusk. Derby winners will be announced on the Greenville Firefighters Association Facebook page after 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Door prize winners will be drawn at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $20 apiece or $60 for a family.
