Dexter finishes second at Class B North wrestling championship

BANGOR — The Dexter Regional High School wrestling team finished second at the 2026 Class B North championship on Feb. 7 at the Cross Insurance Center. The Tigers ended the day with a score of 172.5 points, second most among 18 schools and trailing only the 242 points for first place Mount View High School of Thorndike.

The Tigers’ Matthew Severance captured the 132-pound title.

Damiair Miller earned top honors in the 165-pound division.

Memphis Cole finished second at 106 pounds, as did Skighler Woodard at 152 pounds.

Placing third for Dexter was Noah Woodruff at 126 pounds, Tanner Ladd at 215 pounds and Corey Commeau at 285 pounds.

Foxcroft Academy finished sixth in the team standings with a score of 84.5 pounds.

Giorgi Tskrialashvilli came in second at 132 pounds. Hayden Hanson also reached the championship finals, coming in second at 150 pounds.

Jacobi Porie and Tyler Wing both won consolation finals matches to place third at 190 and 215 pounds respectively.

Piscataquis Community High School ended the competition with 37 points to place 14th in the standings.

Brady Ball came in second at 165 pounds.

Abel Currier was fourth at 132 pounds.

The top four finishes in each weight class will compete at the Class B championship on Saturday, Feb. 14 at Mattanawcook Academy in Lincoln, where the grapplers will join the top finishers at the Class B South championship.
