Mid Maine Dental Hygiene celebrates new location with open house, Chamber ribbon cutting

MILO — Mid Maine Dental Hygiene LLC will welcome the community to its new location with an open house from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, marking an exciting milestone for both the business and the region’s access to preventive dental care.

Owner and operator Darcy Burgess, an independent practicing dental hygienist with more than 20 years of  experience, opened her original office in Milo in 2024. The move to a new, expanded and welcoming location reflects both business growth and a continued commitment to serving a community close to her heart.

Burgess, who grew up in Barnard Township and has deep generational ties to Milo, said choosing to establish her  practice in the area was a natural decision.

MID MAINE DENTAL HYGIENE — Mid Maine Dental Hygiene LLC will welcome the community to its new location at 2 Belmont St. in Milo with an open house from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7.

“Milo has always felt like a special place where connections are made,”  Burgess shared. “It’s a wonderful blue-collar, working community — rich in history, full of passionate people who  care for one another like next-door neighbors. A real Mayberry town. I’m excited to provide an individual approach to preventive dental care in a place that truly needs and values it.”

Mid Maine Dental Hygiene was created to help bridge the gap between private dental practices and community dental clinics. As an independent provider, Burgess offers preventive dental hygiene services in a relaxed, quieter and less rushed environment, while coordinating referrals to dentists for examinations and restorative care.

“Prevention is where it all starts,” Burgess said. “My goal is to encourage, empower, educate and motivate patients about the importance of dental care and how deeply it impacts overall health.”

Burgess now resides in Dover-Foxcroft with her husband Brian and their three daughters. Her deep roots in  Piscataquis County and her appreciation for small-town life — both professionally and personally — continue to shape the mission of her practice.

“It is very exciting to see our local business owners making investments in Piscataquis County,” said Denise Buzzelli, director of the Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce. “Not solely for their own business growth, but to bring better services and higher levels of professional care to those who reside within our communities.”

The community is invited to attend the open house on Feb. 7 at Mid Maine Dental Hygiene’s new location, 2 Belmont St. (corner of Elm & Belmont). Guests can enjoy light refreshments, branded merchandise, a raffle and door prizes while meeting the owner and learning more about the practice.
