Kennedy will be featured artist at Abbott Memorial Library

DEXTER — Beginning in February at the Abbott Memorial Library in Dexter, the work of Joe Kennedy of Ripley  will be on display.

The word “Beyond” signifies the inclusion of found objects, especially the inclusion of glass. It represents the water that once flowed through the objects he uses.  Used in a variety of modes, it elevates the art form resulting in a style that Kennedy claims as his own. He finds joy in seeing relics of the past, whose time has ended, being reborn to serve in a different but fulfilling way. Each piece with its shine, gleam, and quirkiness will surprise and delight the viewer.

The library is open Tuesday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. For more information, please call 207-924-7292.
