FA’s Donahue places second in long jump

ORONO — The Foxcroft Academy and Penquis Valley High School indoor track and field teams took part in a Penobscot Valley Conference/Eastern Maine Indoor Track League meet on Saturday, Dec. 20 at the New Balance Field House on the campus of the University of Maine.

Foxcroft Academy finished the competition with a score of 12 points to place sixth among nine teams.

Pony senior Conner Donahue had the second-best performance in the long jump. Donahue attained a distance of 20 feet 2 inches. He was just one inch behind the 20-03 for first-place jumper senior Ripley Strout of Sumner Memorial High School of Sullivan/Narragugus High School of Harrington.

Donahue also came in fourth in the 200 with his time of 24.75 seconds.

The boys from Penquis had two points to come in ninth.

Patriot senior Jareth Williams picked up the points by placing fifth in the 200 with his time of 24.76 seconds.

In the girls meet, Penquis ended with six points to come in seventh of eight teams.

Patriot junior Ava Shoopman ran the 400 in a time of 1:09.76 to place third.

Foxcroft had one point to finish eighth in the girls standings.

Pony freshman Olivia Mishio was sixth in the 400 with her time of 1:11.17.
