By Wendy Watkins, Bangor Daily News Staff

DEXTER — Firefighters in Dexter battled a fire in an apartment building on Main Street Saturday morning, Dec. 13.

The fire left 11 people unable to return to their homes, according to WABI, as the building suffered heavy damage and is uninhabitable.

One person who went back into the building to retrieve a pet suffered an injury that was treated at the scene, the television station reported.

While fighting the fire, several area roads were closed.
