Three Dexter runners race at Class C X-C championships

AUGUSTA — Three Dexter Regional High School cross country runners took part in the 2025 Class C championships on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 1 at Cony High School, after having qualified with top 30 performances at the previous weekend’s Class C North finals.

Tiger freshman Crystal Adkins covered the 5K course in a time of 24 minutes, 38.03 seconds. This put Adkins 34th among a field of 81 entrants.

Senior Annabelle Peakes came in 48th with her time of 25:42.42.

Madison Area High School junior Bryanna Hagopian won the race in 19:36.05, just over six seconds ahead of second place.

Orono High School won the girls title with 52 points, followed by 61 for the Waynflete School of Portland and 107 points for third-place North Yarmouth Academy.

In the boys race, Dexter senior Ezekiel Bermudez ran a time of 20:46.60. Bermudez placed 66th among 95 entrants in the state race.

Dirigo High School of Dixfield junior Williams Morris earned first-place honors with his time of 16:33.27, as he bested the runner-up by 64 seconds.

The Houlton High School/Great Houlton Christian Academy cooperative earned the boys title with a score of 55 points. Winthrop was second with 73 points and George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill came in third with a score of 116 points.
