Center Theatre offers daytime school shows of ‘A Christmas Carol’

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Center Theatre announced that it will be offering special daytime performances of its production of Charles Dickens’ classic “A Christmas Carol” for area schools and homeschool groups on Tuesday, Dec. 16.

Performed by the talented Slightly Off-Center Players, the production dives into the timeless, transformative tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and his journey with the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come. The show brings Dickens’ powerful message of redemption and the true spirit of Christmas to life on the Center Theatre stage.

Center Theatre Executive Director Patrick Myers is enthusiastic about making the holiday show accessible to students.

“Having kids see any of our productions is always fun, but there’s something special about the holiday shows,” he said. “We’re grateful for the actors and crew who are taking a day off from work to perform for area kids and to our sponsors The Mill Inn and Cafe, Lary Funeral Home, Piscataquis Monumental and Maine Highlands Federal Credit Union for their support.”

Seating for the school performances is limited, and reservations must be made in advance. Schools, teachers and homeschool groups interested in reserving space for their students should contact Myers at the Center Theatre by calling 207-564-8943 or by emailing pmyers@centertheatre.org.

The Center Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission to engage and inspire by making arts, education and entertainment accessible to our rural communities.
