DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Eastern Area Agency on Aging, which serves Penobscot, Piscataquis, Washington and Hancock counties, will host a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. to noon at its new Access Center, located within Central Hall Commons.
The event will feature a brief speaking program, tours of the new space, service demonstrations and light refreshments.
EAAA’s new Access Center will provide a welcoming, local space for older adults and caregivers to connect with services and supports right in their community. Offerings will include a Community Café, walk-in resource appointments, caregiver support groups and a variety of wellness activities. The site will also serve as the local base for several of EAAA’s signature programs, including Meals on Wheels, the Furry Friends Food Bank and the Commodity Supplemental Food Program.

The celebration will begin at 10 a.m. with an official ribbon-cutting and remarks from leadership of both EAAA and Central Hall Commons. Following the ceremony, attendees will have the opportunity to tour the facility, meet staff and learn more about how EAAA is expanding access to essential services throughout the region.
It is the mission of the Eastern Area Agency on Aging to provide older adults, caregivers and adults with disabilities in Hancock, Penobscot, Piscataquis and Washington counties in Maine with the information and access to resources they need to be healthy, engaged and supported in their communities.
