73-year-old inmate at Mountain View Correctional Facility dies

CHARLESTON — A 73-year-old man who was sentenced to 35 years in prison died at the Mountain View Correctional Facility on Monday.
Richard Blaine Sweet’s death at around 8:25 a.m. was attended by medical personnel, according to the Maine Department of Corrections. The state attorney general and medical examiner’s office have been notified of his death.
Sweet started serving his sentence for a gross sexual assault conviction in 1998.
He was originally from Waterville.
