
UMaine Extension presents 4-H goat workshop at Dover-Foxcroft farm
DOVER-FOXCROT — University of Maine Cooperative Extension 4-H will host a goat workshop on Sunday, Aug. 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Maison de Chevre, 162 Bolton Road.
Sadee Mehuren, 4-H animal science professional, will facilitate a hands-on overview of goat care and handling for youth ages nine and older. Tips for judging and showing goats will also be offered. Families who have goats, are considering getting goats, or just want to experience a working dairy goat farm in the Maine Highlands are invited to attend.
The workshop is designed primarily for older youth. Children younger than 9 are welcome with adult supervision. Workshop registration is limited to 15 youth.
