‘Good Trouble’ in Dover-Foxcroft

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Local concerned citizens joined other Americans in over 1,500 locations on July 17 to honor John Lewis’ legacy promoting the message “Good Trouble Lives On!”

U.S. Rep. Lewis served in the House of Representatives from 1986 to 2020, representing Georgia and was known for his work in the Civil Rights Movement all of his life. Forty people gathered on the East Main Street bridge in Dover-Foxcroft at noon, with many with signs quoting Lewis’ well known quote about “good trouble.”

““Do not become bitter or hostile. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble. We will find a way to make a way out of no way,” Lewis, 2018.
