PCSWCD foraging workshop
WILLIAMSBURG TWP — The Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District is hosting the seventh annual foraging workshop on Saturday, Aug. 9 at the public land, the Williamsburg Forest in Williamsburg Township. If you have not had a chance to explore the Williamsburg Forest, you are in for a treat as the space offers lots of opportunity to find edible plants and mushrooms!
This workshop will be led by Dustin Small, a local forager. PCSWCD has been working with Small to offer foraging workshops for the past few years and participants have greatly enjoyed his enthusiasm and wealth of knowledge. He describes his favorite thing about foraging as “something that gives us a reason to get outside, slow down, and observe nature here in Maine. You see the change progress throughout the season and learn a lot along the way.”

Directions to the Williamsburg Forest will be shared with registration confirmation, so if you are not sure how to get there then we will make sure you know! Williamsburg Forest offers a great location for foraging, specifically mushroom varieties and Small is looking forward to hunting for wild food with you. Bring your basket and be prepared to learn about mushrooms and foraging in Piscataquis County! We can’t wait to walk with you!
Registration and a small fee is required. Space is limited so if you are curious to learn more about wild edibles and would like to come to this workshop, please visit our website www.piscataquisswcd.org to register.
