Strout named Maine’s Mr. Baseball

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Recent Foxcroft Academy graduate Hayden Strout was the top senior baseball player in the state of Maine this past season as he is the D. John Winkin “Mr. Baseball” Award honoree, as announced during the June 24 Maine Senior Ed Flaherty Classic All-Star Games at St. Joseph’s College in Standish. Stout was chosen from a pool of 10 candidates across Classes A, B, C and D.

Per a post on the Foxcroft Academy Facebook page Strout had a phenomenal senior season for the Ponies, batting .489 with 23 hits, 19 stolen bases, 32 runs scored with only three strikeouts. The southpaw finished 7-1 on the mound with a 2.60 ERA, striking out 79 opponents and allowing just 23 walks.
