90th anniversary celebration of Monson Finnish Farmers Club

MONSON — The Monson Finnish Farmers Club will celebrate its 90th anniversary on Saturday, June 14. In honor of this milestone, the Finn Hall on Route 15 will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a variety of activities.

Events include 10 a.m. coffee table and 10 a.m. exhibit on the Monson Finnish families; 10:30-11:30 a.m. “Saunas, Saunas, Saunas” with speaker Garrett Conover; 12-1 p.m. “How to Make May Baskets” with instructor Leeanna Cloutier; 1-2 p.m. “Growing Up Finnish” panel discussion; 2-3 p.m. “Creating a Family Photo History”’; and 7 p.m. dance music provided by the New York music group Metku.

The Metju duo, Katrina Mackey and Michael Ludgate, will perform Finnish-American dance melodies. They have performed at many Finnish festivals and events.
