Memorial for Revolutionary War veterans

SANGERVILLE — The Sons and Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War will be holding a memorial for four Revolutionary War veterans on Flag Day, Saturday, June 14 at the Knowlton Mills Cemetery. We will begin at 1 p.m. honoring veterans Stevens Spooner, Henry Leland, Jr., Apollos Pond and Enoch Leathers. The public is invited to attend. This is also the 250th anniversary of organizing the Continental Army with Commander in Chief George Washington.

From Dover-Foxcroft take Pine Street or from Sangerville the Douty Hill Road. Then take the East Sangerville Grange Road and turn left onto the Knowlton Mills Road (gravel) to the cemetery about 1.1 miles on the right. For more information or questions call the Bennetts at 207-876-3073.
