Greenville Planning Board approves Blair Hill Overlook subdivision
GREENVILLE — The Blair Hill Overlook subdivision application was approved by the Greenville Planning Board during its May 21 meeting.
The application package was complete and Planning Board Chair John Contreni congratulated the developers and wished them luck.
During the May 7 planning board meeting, developer Fred Gossoge said he would love to get the project off ground and is looking forward to breaking ground next month if possible.
The subdivision will include several five-acre home lots atop Blair Hill. There will be also be a half dozen one-acre lots for sale with each having a seasonal two-bedroom, two-bath cabin the property owner will be able to use themself or rent out if they so choose. Green space will be between these lots and neighboring properties.
In other business, the planning board met with Mike Boutin who owns property at the triangle where the Moosehead Lake Road and Eveleth Hill (road) meet. He would like to tear down a structure to make way for a new one-story building to house retail businesses.
The property is just under 3,000 square feet and Boutin believes this would provide up to four spots in the building.
“At this point I can’t tell how many of those we are going to use, but a minimum of two I would think,” he said.
“We are going to try to fit it within the character of the town so we are not going to do anything crazy,” Boutin said, mentioning a modern-looking design.
The preliminary project concept met 15 of 17 criteria items as Boutin was given the go ahead to work with Code Enforcement Officer Ron Sarol on a conditional use permit application to bring back to the planning board.
Sarrol continues to work on 911 addressing, adding four new addresses within the last week.
He has issued seven permits since the last planning board meeting. Three are for sheds, one for a garage, another for demolition and two for business signs. The two sign permits will allow for five signs between the pair of establishments.
