Friends of Community Fitness awarded $5,000 grant from Maine Community Foundation

GUILFORD — Friends of Community Fitness is proud to announce it has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Maine Community Foundation. This generous funding will support key projects planned for 2025 that enhance the health and wellness offerings of the center for its 1,000-plus members from Guilford and surrounding towns.

The grant will be used to upgrade existing equipment, replacing it with new, space-optimizing machines that will provide a wider variety of workout options for members. In addition, part of the funding will go toward the creation of a new outdoor bocce ball court, scheduled to be completed this summer. This court will offer a fun, social and inclusive outdoor activity for all ages and ability levels.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Maine Community Foundation for their support,” said Britney Gallagher, executive director of Friends of Community Fitness. “These funds help us continue our mission to make fitness and wellness accessible, enjoyable, and community-centered.”
