Dexter girls and boys finish third at Hermon

HERMON — The Dexter Regional High School girls outdoor track & field team scored 35 points to finish third among five schools at a Penobscot Valley Conference meet at Hermon High School on May 15 — the first ever home meet for Hermon.

Brookelin Dorman had four top four performances for the Tigers. She was third in the 100 meters in 13.33 seconds and was third in the triple jump at 34 feet, 7.5 inches. Dorman finished fourth in the 200 at 28.98 seconds.

Dexter’s 4×100 relay placed second as Kylie Gilbert, Asani Miller, Jazmin Channon and Brookelin together ran a time of 54.05 seconds.

Channon came in second in the 200 with her time of 28.54 seconds. She was also fourth in the 100 at 13.56 seconds.

Ella McClintock-Hatch finished as the 800 runner-up in 2:38.66.

Sunny Bache’s height of 4-06 was good for fourth in the high jump while the Tigers had three fifth-place performances: Miller in the 200 at 29.59 seconds, Gilbert in the 400 at 1:15.88 and Madison Thomas in the discus at 69-01.

The Piscataquis Community High School girls picked up 19 points to come in fifth at Hermon.

Sadie Kelly placed second in the 1,600 racewalk with her time of 9:54.83. She was also fourth in the 300 hurdles at 1:09.78.

Olivia Goodwin finished second in the javelin with her throw measuring 90-02.

Ava Edes came in third in the high jump at 4-08.

Molly Goodwin added a fifth-place performance in the 300 hurdles with her time of 1:13.32.

The Dexter boys were also third of five teams at the meet with these Tigers compiling a score of 68 points.

Brady Jerome won both the shot put and discus. He earned top shot put honors with a throw of 42-02.50, well over two feet better than the 39-09 for Hermon’s Tyler Slate. In the discus Jerome threw the implement 132-11, five inches more than the 132-06 for Scott Tubbs of the host school.

Damiair Miller had the day’s top triple jump distance at 40-11.50, more than three feet better than Hermon’s Bruce Colter’s 38-10.50.

Miller was also third in the high jump at 5-04 and fourth in the long jump at 17-11.50.

The Tiger 4×100 relay came in second in 47.46 seconds and was made up of Bryce Cooper, Bodhi Langlais, Miller and Tristan Hopkins-Watrous.

Cooper finished second in both the high jump and javelin standings at 5-06 and 115-02.

Hopkins-Watrous placed second in the 200 with his time of 24.56 seconds and he was third in the 100 at 12.06 seconds.

Ezekiel Bermudez ran to a third-place performance in the 1,600 at 5:23.97 and he was fourth in the 800 at 2:28.44.

Tanner Ladd came in fifth in both the discus and javelin with respective throws of 106-09 and 96-03.

Jason Gilbert was fifth in the 400 at 1:08.49 and Langlais was fifth in the high jump at 5-02.

The PCHS boys scored a half dozen points to place fifth at Hermon.

Chase Kilian came in third in the 300 hurdles with his time of 52.42 seconds.

Grant Higgins finished fourth in the 1,600 at 5:42.42.
