
TCTC students partner with town, Dexter Development Association on ‘Bring Back the Beach’ project
DEXTER — Students from the Tri-County Technical Center’s Natural Resource Program are making a tangible difference in their community by collaborating with the town of Dexter and the Dexter Development Association on the “Bring Back the Beach” project. This initiative aims to revitalize the Lake Wassookeag public beach area, and the students are playing a key role in the environmental restoration aspect.
The students’ involvement focuses on planting trees and shrubs to improve the area’s ecological health, enhance the natural beauty of the space and provide a more welcoming environment for residents and visitors. This hands-on experience allows them to apply their classroom knowledge in a real-world setting, gaining valuable skills in environmental stewardship and community engagement.

BRING BACK THE BEACH — Tri-County Technical Center Natural Resource Program students are working with the town of Dexter and Dexter Development Association on the “Bring Back the Beach” project.
The “Bring Back the Beach” project is a community-led effort spearheaded by the Dexter Development Association. The project seeks to restore and enhance the beach area for recreational use, making it a destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts.
The tree and shrub planting is part of a larger effort to improve the water quality and overall health of Lake Wassookeag. The students’ work will help to stabilize the shoreline, reduce erosion and provide habitat for wildlife.
