School board recall on Dexter ballot

“Stop the Power Trip” is a non-partisan committee of five registered voters from Dexter who formed to request a special election of the Town of Dexter to recall two SAD 46 school board members, Judy Saunders and Alisha Ames. The committee submitted notarized affidavits and petitions with 713 signatures of registered voters to secure a special election, which includes two questions: “Shall Judy Saunders be recalled from the office of MSAD #46 School Board?” and “Shall Alisha Ames be recalled from the office of MSAD #46 School Board?”

On May 8, the town clerk of Dexter certified both petitions and later that evening, the Dexter Town Council voted unanimously to include both items on the June 10 Town of Dexter election. 

A vote of “yes” removes/recalls a board member from their position. A vote of “no” retains them.
