Penquis track takes part in Old Town meet

OLD TOWN — The Penquis Valley High School outdoor track & field team took part in a Penobscot Valley Conference meet at Old Town High School on May 9. The Penquis girls tied Central High School of Corinth with 12 points as both were fourth among a field of five teams.

Brooklyn Decker finished second in the shot put with her throw of 29 feet, 2.75 inches. Decker also placed fourth in the discus and javelin with respective throws of 83-08 and 85-05.

Kayla Hatt came in fourth in the 1,600 with her time of 6 minutes, 16.38 seconds.

The boys from Penquis picked up 12 points to come in fifth among five schools.

Lucas Chai won the triple jump. He earned top honors with a leap measuring 36-01.50, over six inches more than the 35-07.25 for Old Town’s Tyler Michaud.

Jareth Williams finished third in the 100 at 11.96 seconds.
