Vice President and Publicity Chair Minnie McCormick presented all members with a hand-painted GFWC/Unity in Diversity sign that they will display at their homes in hopes of making people aware that GFWC/Miosac Club is a part of this international organization.
Treasurer Anne Cress reported that the amount collected for St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital was $169.49. She also reported three local organizations were awarded $150 each, the Dover-Foxcroft Fire Department, Dover-Foxcroft Area Food Center and Piscataquis Area Community Center (formerly the Piscataquis Regional YMCA).

Members discussed recruiting ideas and came up with an idea for inviting guests to our Souper Supper in October in hopes of getting new members. Having a club brochure was mentioned and we have had these in the past.
The meeting was adjourned and the annual meeting began.
Secretary Diane Leighton read the list of things we have done this year and we were surprised we had done so much, the Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis Children’s Christmas, two scholarships, cards for veterans, goody bags for children through the food bank, the three organizations already mentioned, personal care items for residents at Pleasant Meadows and supplying flashlights for victims of domestic violence.
President Suzanne Raymond, Cress. McCormick and Scrapbook Chair Vicki Moschella will be attending the GFWC/Maine convention in Freeport.
The 89th birthday dinner will be held May 20 at Bear Point Marina.
Although regular meetings will not be held in the summer, we will be working on planning meetings as needed. Have a great summer.
