Dexter and PCHS track teams open the season

BREWER — The Dexter Regional High School and Piscataquis Community High School outdoor track & field teams opened the 2025 season with a Penobscot Valley Conference meet at the Brewer Community School on April 25. The Tiger and Pirate girls tied for sixth place among seven schools with a score of 28 points each.

Brookelin Dorman finished the day second in the triple jump with a top distance of 32 feet, 10 inches. She also came in fourth in the 100 meters in a time of 13.69 seconds and was fifth in the 200 at 29.78 seconds.

Dorman anchored Dexter’s 4×100 relay as Jemma Bullock, Jazmin Channon, Asani Miller and Dorman combined for a time of 55.53 seconds to place fourth.

Sunny Bache was part of a three-way tie for second in the high jump at 4-06.

Bullock came in fifth in the 110 hurdles with her time of 23.76 seconds.

Channon finished sixth in both the 200 at 30.19 seconds and long jump at 14-03.75.

For PCHS, Judith Jannsen was the 400-meter runner-up in a time of 1:08.52. She also placed fifth in the triple jump at 30-00.25.

Ava Edes was one of three high jumpers tying for second in the event at 4-06.

The Pirate 4×100 relay, Edes, Kiara Moore, Molly Goodwin and Jannsen, came in fifth among point-scoring teams with a time of 1:00.95.

Olivia and Molly Goodwin were third and fourth in the javelin with respective throws of 87-04 and 84-00.

The Dexter boys ended the meet in fifth place, among a half dozen schools scoring points, with 32 points.

The Tigers’ Tristan Hopkins-Watrous placed second in the 110 hurdles at 16.89 seconds. He also finished sixth in the 100 at 12.05 seconds.

The Dexter 4×100 relay, Damiar Miller, Jason Gilbert, Cash Downs and Hopkins-Watrous, was fourth among point-scoring squads with a time of 50.44 seconds.

Brady Jerome came in third in the discus with a throw of 104-06 and he was fourth in the shot put at 37-02.

Miller was third in the triple jump at 38-02.25 and sixth in the long jump at 19-05.75.

Gilbert had a fifth-place performance in the 400 at 1:09.65.
