TD Charitable Foundation supports financial well-being with Penquis
BANGOR — The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank, has awarded Penquis a $20,000 grant to support its commitment to strengthening communities. Penquis is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve financial stability and well-being through a variety of programs and services focused on healthy living, transportation access, housing stability and school readiness.
The grant will support Penquis’ Financial Capability Program, which provides six- to eight-week classes and one-on-one financial coaching to help individuals maximize their income, manage their finances, and build assets. The program serves Penquis clients, including those enrolled in Homeownership Counseling, Whole Families, the Family Development Account Program, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Assurance 16 Energy Education. Through this initiative, 200 to 225 individuals will gain the tools needed to improve their financial well-being, focusing on goal setting, budgeting, saving, credit building, banking services and community resources.
“We are very thankful to receive this grant from TD Charitable Foundation,” said Jennifer Giosia, Housing and Energy Services director for Penquis. “This funding will allow us to help more Mainers not only meet basic needs and increase financial stability but also build long-term financial security.”
This contribution aligns with TD’s corporate citizenship platform, The TD Ready Commitment, which promotes inclusivity, economic vitality, environmental well-being, and health — helping individuals and communities thrive in a rapidly changing world.
