QUILT RAFFLE — Long-time Pine Tree Hospice volunteer Helen Higgins has created her 19th quilt to benefit the organization. Raffle tickets are available with the drawing to take place at the 29th annual Variety Show, starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 26 at the Center Theatre.

A highlight of the event is the annual raffle of a beautiful heirloom-quality full-sized quilt. The quilt is handcrafted by Helen Higgins, long-time PTH volunteer, and is the 19th one she has created for the annual event. Raffle tickets may be purchased Monday to Friday at the Pine Tree Hospice office at 883 West Main St. in Dover-Foxcroft and at the door on the day of the performance. If you are purchasing online tickets for the performance at www.centertheatre.org, you will also be able to buy raffle tickets. Tickets are $5 each. Drawing will take place at intermission.

A pie auction is a new feature. Lucky winners will go home with delicious pies baked by members of the Pine Tree Hospice community: Sharon Imbert, Cathy Hall, Kathy Schmidt, Elizabeth Walsh, Donna Hathaway, Pam Pultz and Susan Mullaney. These range from an oversized “whoopie pie” to a chicken pot pie to various fruit pies. In celebration of April’s  infamous “mud season”, there will even be a chocolate mud pie! Pies will be auctioned off between acts by Lizotte for pick up after the show.
