McKenney presented with Parkman’s Boston Post Cane

PARKMAN — Annie McKenney was presented with the Boston Post Cane plaque on March 14 at the Parkman Town Office, recognizing her as the town’s eldest resident.

Annie Morrison McKenney was born nearly 92 years ago on April 11, 1933 in St. Francis. She moved to Parkman her senior year of high school where she met the love of her life, Charles McKenney Jr. They were married and started a family together shortly after.

PARKMAN HONOREE – Annie McKenney, who will be turning 92 next month, was presented with Parkman’s Boston Cane plaque to recognize her as the town’s eldest resident.

McKenney is a faithful member of the Parkman Baptist Church. She is a prayer warrior and a wonderful cook. Mckenney is known for her famous biscuits.

The town of Parkman is fortunate to still have their original Boston Post Cane on display at the town office. In 2021 the town made the decision to make a memorable plaque for the oldest citizen to keep.
