
Versant Power and employees raise $129,837 to help those in need
BANGOR — Heart of Maine United Way announced that Versant Power and Versant employees surpassed their campaign goal, raising $129,837 for nonprofits in Maine.
“It has been truly inspiring to see the dedication and generosity of Versant Power and its employees throughout this campaign,” said Jessica Ward, vice president of philanthropy & donor engagement at Heart of Maine United Way. “Year after year, Versant Power demonstrates what it means to be a community leader — not only as a top 10 campaign but as a company deeply committed to making a lasting impact. Their employees go above and beyond, giving both their time and resources to support local families and individuals in need. We are incredibly grateful for their partnership, and we hope their generosity inspires other organizations to get involved and help build a stronger, more connected Heart of Maine.”

During the fall, Versant Power employees and leadership coordinated fundraisers for their annual employee campaign, sharing the impact support can make in the region. Fundraising activities included cooking contests, photo contests and time-off raffles.
“The Versant Power team is passionate about making a difference in the communities we serve. In 2024, our company dedicated financial support to organizations throughout northern and eastern Maine with focus on energy affordability and basic needs,” stated VP Customer Operations Kendra Overlock. “We are thrilled that our annual campaign continually engages and inspires employees to give back to their neighbors through Heart of Maine United Way and United Way programs throughout our state.”
Funds were raised and will be used in the Heart of Maine six-county area and the Aroostook United Way region unless designated otherwise by donors. Gifts to HoMEUW’s $1.73 million campaign will help 1 in 3 people in need in our region. More than 100 companies across our area are engaged in HoMEUW’s campaign.
