Greenville Fire Department Moosehead Lake Ice Fishing Derby returns this weekend

GREENVILLE — The Greenville Fire Department’s fourth annual Moosehead Lake Ice Fishing Derby is set for this weekend, running from Friday, Feb. 28, Saturday, March 1, and Sunday, March 2. Proceeds will benefit the Greenville Fire Department and its projects.

Registration will be at the fire station, 10 Minden Street, for those who register by noon on Saturday, March 1. Tickets are required in order to weigh in.

FISHING ON MOOSEHEAD — Chris Parent caught the winning fish at the 2024 Moosehead Lake Togue Derby in late January of that year. His fish weighed 14.48 pounds and was over 36 inches long. The Greenville Fire Department’s fourth annual Moosehead Lake Ice Fishing Derby will be held this weekend from Friday to Sunday, Feb. 28 to March 2.

First and second prizes will be awarded to the largest lake trout and the largest cusk. Derby winners will be announced on the Greenville Firefighters Association Facebook page after 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 2.

Door prize winners will be drawn at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 1. Tickets are $15 apiece or $30 for a family of four. These can be purchased at Indian Hill Trading Post, Breton’s Store, the town office, from any firefighter, or on Eventbrite.com.
