FA’s Donahue places in three events at state track meet

LEWISTON — Foxcroft Academy junior Conner Donahue placed in the 200 meters and long and triple jumps at the 2025 Class B indoor track and field championship on Monday, Feb. 17 at Bates College. Donahue accounted for all 13 of his team’s points, placing the Ponies 17th among 33 schools scoring at the state meet.

Donahue finished third in the long jump with his top distance of 20 feet, 9.5 inches. He also came in fourth in the 200 in a time of 23.83 seconds. In the triple jump, Donahue placed seventh at exactly 39 feet.

Foxcroft senior Jaxson Zimmerman took part in the shot put. He ended up 16th in the standings with his throw of 35-09.25.

A pair of Penquis Valley High School boys competed in the state championship.

Senior Lucas Chai finished 10th in the triple jump with his distance of 37-08.75. Junior Jareth Williams was 23rd in the 200 at 25.17 seconds.3; T

Greely High School of Cumberland won the team championship with 91 points, more than twice the 38 points for co-runners-up Fryeburg Academy and York High School. Greely repeated as Class B champions and won the program’s seventh state title.

In the girls meet, Piscataquis Community High School scored 7.5 points to come in 22nd among a field of 31 point-scoring teams.

Junior Ava Goulete finished fifth in the shot put with her throw of 34-07.25.

Pirate freshman Ava Edes tied for fifth in the high jump. Edes and Belfast Area High School senior Allison Hooper each cleared the bar at 4-08.

Junior Judith Jannsen took part in the triple jump, ending up 19th in the triple jump standings at 29-05.50. Edes was also 23rd in the 55-meter hurdle prelims at 12.05 seconds.

The girls from Foxcroft Academy came in 27th with three points.

Pony senior Alexis Heretakis accounted for the three points. She placed sixth in the long jump at a distance measuring 16-01.75.

Heretakis was also 15th in the 55-meter prelims in a time of 7.94 seconds.

Greely swept the Class B championships. The Greely girls won the title by a slim 1-point margin over Freeport High School at 72 to 71 respective points. Greely won the 18th Class B girls crown in program history.
